The best flying week of my life

This summer of 2009 we had the Spanish Championships in Piedrahita.
After flying in the British Open the week before with many days of strong westerly wind we were in for a fantastic week with tasks very day but the last. Conditions for most days were predominantly north west winds, task around 100km (114.95km) with out and returns across Villatoro Pass. The into wind we most complicated, but Steve Ham showed his great understanding of the area designing well set and interesting tasks for each day. The organisation of the event was excellent with a massive participation of pilots with many foreigners. Nobody wanted to miss the prospect of the epic Piedrahíta conditions.
This year, thanks to the Club la Corneja de Gredos we were able to enjoy an impressive take off area, very large, with a good inclination. A little dusty but much better than before. We also had the new landing field next to the village which is large and soft… ha ha. I hope to return, but at the moment it has been the best flying week of my life and I urge everyone who does no know Piedrahíta to go there and spend some days flying, and for sure you will never stop coming back.
